Press Release

Toronto's Winter Magic

Toronto is known as a vibrant, multicultural city with events and attractions being held year round. Despite the winter chills soon approaching, there will be a variety of unique events which allow you to experience the downtown core of Toronto which will allow you to enjoy the festive holiday excitement. We have composed a short list of the upcoming winter thrills that can be enjoyed throughout the city with your friends, family, or even solo and of all ages.

If you missed out on the Ice Wine and Dine festivities located on Elm Street on Saturday 13, 2010, you still have the chance to visit the other four attractions associated with the Winter Magic Celebration. We have listed these exciting venues so that you can fit them into your busy schedules.

1)      BUSKERTAINMENT

  •  New to Winter Magic this year, Buskertainment will run from November 12th through to December 19th every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 2pm. Feel free to walk throughout the Downtown core at Yonge Street and stumble upon buskers of all kinds.  From caricature artists, to mimes, to stilt walkers, to illusionists - anything you can think of will be there.

2)      ILLUMINITE

  • Taking place on November 20, 2010 at the Yonge-Dundas Square starting at 6pm, this free event will be hosting this year’s Dance Project, Ariel Birds, Fire Show and Tree Lighting Finale. Composed of professional routine dancers, Ariel performers suspended 40’ above you in the air, and pyrotechnics, this will leave you with a big bang and something to remember.

3)      WINDOW WONDERLAND

  • Take part in this year’s window display contest to support the yonge students of Ryerson University taking place from November 4-25 2010. As you walk along Yonge Street make sure to enjoy the creative works of the students as they will make these visual displays in hopes of winning the contest being held on line.
